GENGHIS COVENTIONS INCORPORATED - CODE OF CONDUCT

Please read the following code of conduct and abide by it at all Genghis Conventions events. Please also read the venue’s (and if applicable accommodation’s) Code of Conduct and abide by it. Failure to comply can lead to expulsion from the Convention as well as other Genghis Conventions Events. Abiding by this code facilitates good relations to be kept within our community, the venue and the public.

Anti-Harassment Policy

GenghisCon aims to be a harassment-free zone, which includes (but is not limited to) physical abuse, offensive verbal comments, and unwanted physical attention. We do not tolerate racism, sexism, theophobia, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, fatphobia (or body shaming of any sort).

Attendees and participants engaging in harassing behaviour will face sanctions, and you may be removed from the convention.

If you are being harassed, notice that somebody else is being harassed or have any concerns contact a Committee member or the Anti-Harassment Officer printed on your registration badge.

Accessibility

GenghisCon aims to be inclusive of people with different physical and mental abilities and has tried to ensure the location and convention are as accessible as possible.

If you have any accessibility concerns leading up to or throughout the convention, please contact the Committee. The Committee sincerely hopes that the measures put in place will make for a positive con experience for all involved.

Children

Children under the age of 13 may attend GenghisCon under the care of a responsible adult who is a member of and attending the convention. The adult remains responsible for the conduct and supervision of the child.

People under the age of 18 are the responsibility of the guardian this includes but is not limited to ensure they do not attend 18+ panels or other inappropriate content. The committee will endeavour to facilitate this with appropriate content titles but are not responsible for supervising the content of panels, their presenters or any other content/material.

Noise

Noise levels should be maintained at a reasonable level at all times, particularly at night according to the convention's and venue’s guidelines. After the scheduled finish time for the last program item of a given day, people are required to quietly pack up and vacate the venue.

If you are using accommodation made available by the venue, please ensure any noisy activities conclude before midnight.

Security and Noise Issues

If you have any concerns or issues regarding security or noise, please contact a Committee member or Minion for assistance. See contact details on the website or your badge.

Damage and Extra Cleaning

Genghis Conventions Inc will be charged for any damage caused to the venue, property, equipment and/or other and reserves the right to seek compensation where appropriate.

Loss or Damage to Personal Property

Genghis Conventions Inc is not responsible for the loss or damage to personal items at the venue, events or other related activities.
