GenghisCon's Code Of Conduct
- GenghisCon aims to be a harassment free zone, which includes (but is not limited to) physical abuse, offensive verbal comments, and unwanted physical attention. Any aggressive behaviour will get attendee removed from the event, potentially banned from the rest of the event or even banned from future events. This will get escalated to GenghisCon Committee, Security, Curtin Security and Police as required.
- We do not tolerate racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, fat phobia or ableism. Attendees and participants engaging in harassing behaviour may be removed from the convention and denied future attendance.
- If you are being harassed, notice that somebody else is being harassed or have any concerns contact a member of the GenghisCon Committee.
The GenghisCon Committee would like to stress the importance of consent both at our convention and away. Please ask others before intruding on their personal space. Please also consider giving content warnings before discussing topics that may be sensitive to certain people.
Photos or Video should only be taken from those when given permission. If not possible to obtain permission prior permission may be obtained as soon as possible after and the images or video deleted if requested.
The GenghisCon Committee takes consent very seriously and any breach should be brought to the attention of any committee members as soon as possible.
- Alcohol may not be brought into the Venue under any circumstances. Anyone breaching this will be made to leave the venue, escalating to banned from remainder of the event and even future events if any abuse or aggression is resultant.
- There is Alcohol available nearby from the venue at Milky Lane, Hee Sushi and the Curtin Tav and may not be removed from those licensed venues.
- The entire Curtin Bentley Campus is not BYO so Alcohol may not be brought onto the Campus, and in doing so, will breach the Liquor Act.
The Venue will be shut and locked at the completion of each day. Friday and Saturday at 2am and Sunday at 6pm. All attendees are required to vacate the venue at this time. Those with accommodation on site can move to their accommodation but for all attendees without accommodation you are required to depart the Curtin Bentley Campus entirely.
No one is allowed to sleep outside of the venue or within vehicles and will be told to leave by GenghisCon Commitee or Soft-Security or Curtin Security.
GenghisCon aims to be inclusive of people with different physical and mental abilities, and has tried to ensure the location and convention are as accessible as possible. Please contact the Committee via the details on the website or back of your badge, if there are any accessibility concerns leading up to or throughout the convention.
The GenghisCon committee sincerely hopes that the measures put in place will make for a positive con experience for all involved.
Anyone under the age of 15 may only attend GenghisCon under the care of a responsible parent or guardian who is a member of and attending the Convention. The adult remains responsible for the conduct and supervision of the child(children). People under the age of 15 are the responsibility of the guardian this includes but is not limited to ensure they do not attend 15+ panels or other inappropriate content. The committee will endeavour to facilitate this with appropriate content titles but are not responsible for supervising the content of panels, their presenters or any other content/material.
If you have any concerns or issues regarding security or noise, please contact a GenghisCon Committee member or Minion for assistance.
GenghisCon will be charged for any damage caused to the venue, property, equipment and/or other and reserves the right to seek compensation where appropriate. Please clean up after yourself and if help is required reach out to a Minion or Committee Member for help.
Genghis Conventions Inc or the Committee Members or General Members are not responsible for the loss or damage to personal items at the venue, events or other related activities. If any suspicious behaviour is noticed please inform a Minion or Committee Member as soon as possible. The 2025 venue is supplied with Cameras throughout for added safety.
- No bladed weapons or firearms may be brought onto the Curtin Campus or inside the Event Venue under any circumstances
- Any and all Cosplay props need to be inspected upon arrival at the event and may only be taken inside if deemed safe and given permission. Any item failing inspection must be returned to a vehicle accommodation or taken off campus entirely
- Event items or props must be inspected by the event organiser(s) or have been provided by the event organiser(s) and may only be used if deemed safe by the organiser
- Imitation items that could be confused for weapons or firearms must only be used within the event building and must not be visible to public when being transported to and from the event
