” Come together and create a game together. No existing skills are required. With all our skill levels together,
create a game with a writing style as fractured as the worlds in which the game is set. Do any of the below that suit your fancy: – Brainstorm the story’s overall structure and paths the Player can take. – Write a page fleshing out a node in the player’s journey. – Write a self-insert. Dragons and Space Battles sound dangerous. The Player may prefer to chat with you. – Take photos. Part of the story takes place in GenghisCon, so you could take photos to illustrate those parts. Remember to get permission before taking pictures of people. – Find appropriate Creative Commons images to illustrate the game. – Draw your own images. (Skill is great, but if you feel you can’t contribute, look at the art style of the game https://www.kingdomofloathing.com …) – Use Version Contol software (GitHub) to manage versions of the game. – Manage Discord Server to submit content and discuss. – Show off your technical wizardry. Given time constraints we *hope* to produce a simple small game based on plain text, pencil sketches and downloaded images. But you are welcome to try to create a masterpiece of technology if you want. Client-side JavaScript would be an obvious choice. – Put down your pencil at the end of the workshop(s), or keep in contact during GenghisCon to finish off the game. – Present the game at the closing ceremony.
